Polygun is a special long gun capable of swapping between two firing modes, one suited for distance firing and one for close-range fire. This weapon is known for its community-wide participation in its discovery, much like Anguish or the Archon archetype.

- Although the Polygun has infinite ammo, this is mitigated by a shot limit.
- Surpassing the shot limit without performing an active reload will incur a unique status effect called Polygun Error, which causes the user to explode.
- This explosion can be perfect evaded.
- The Polygun features an active reload mechanic. After reaching the shot limit, the Traveler must time their reload. Reloading improperly will cause the weapon to misfire, disabling it for several seconds.
- Successfully timing the active reload will grant a stack of Harnessed Energy which will increase the shot limit by 1. This can repeated three times, for a total shot limit of 5.
- The fourth successful active reload will remove the shot limit for 5s. This cycle will repeat until the active reload is mistimed, after which all stacks of Harnessed Energy are removed.
- The difficulty of the active reload scales with how many shots have been fired; the earlier the Traveler reloads, the smaller the sweet spot will be.
- Though the Polygun reuses the heat reticle, this is purely cosmetic; it does not generate heat.
- The Polygun has two firing modes, which can be alternated between by activating its weapon mod. Both firing modes retain the same shot limit.
- The standard firing mode is a fully-automatic and highly-accurate marksman rifle.
- The secondary firing mode is a semi-automatic, close-range shotgun. It fires more slowly, but deals increased damage.
Acquisition[edit | edit source]
- Found on an altar hidden in the Labyrinth. To obtain this item, thirteen glowing cubes must be located and destroyed in a specific sequence.
- Progress will reset if any Traveler dies.
