The Imposter King (storyline)
"The Imposter King" is one of Losomn's storylines. It deals with the eponymous Imposter King, a Fae who threw the conjoined worlds into chaos with his coup against the One True King.
Progression[edit | edit source]
The storyline begins with the Traveler arriving in the courtyard of Beatific Palace, finding a locked gate with a large mural in front, the latter missing the faces of the engraved figures. Descending by elevator into the nearby library, they will come across the Faelin Mural Piece—one of the missing faces.
Pressing further into the cellars, the Traveler will come across the Juggler. If allowed to perform, the Juggler will give the Magic Quill, allowing the Traveler to traverse the scratched out Fae doorways across the palace.
When ascending a nearby elevator into the library, the Traveler may jump off early, and find Nimue's Retreat at the end of a passage. The Lady of the Lake will explain some past events leading to the current state of the Fae realm.
Back in the library, the doorway at the bottom floor will transport the Traveler to Ironborough, one of this storyline's overworld areas. Here, the Traveler must find and complete the random boss dungeon in order to enter the Malefic Palace.
The Malefic Palace is a Shaed reflection of the Beatific Palace, but is entered through a doorway deep underneath the palace. Here the Traveler will encounter the Card Player, who challenges them to keep their eyes on a card depicting the Imposter, while he shuffles the deck. The cards will become doorways, and picking the correct one allows the Traveler to claim the Faerin Mural Piece.
Inserting the pieces into the mural in the Beatific Palace or the Malefic Palace unlocks both gates, allowing the Traveler to enter the Beatific Gallery and the Malefic Gallery. Here, they will encounter Faelin and Faerin respectively, who each task the Traveler to kill the other. The Traveler is free to choose which to slay.

- Jester's Bell - rewarded if the Traveler uses the Clap emote during the Juggler's performance
- One-Eyed Joker Idol - found in the Card Player's game by following the Joker card.
- Misfortune - found in the Card Player's game by following the Devil card and defeating Firth: The Oathkeeper.
- Shaed Bloom Crystal - found in the Malefic Palace on the bone pile where the Juggler would be.
- Cataloger's Jewel - found in the Beatific Palace, in the golden reflection of the Card Player's room.
- Unsullied Heart - revealed in the courtyard of the Beatific Palace by wearing the One True King Sigil in front of his statue.
World Boss rewards:
- Slaying Faelin rewards the Imposter's Heart used to craft Deceit, while also granting Faerin's Sigil from the other.
- Slaying Faerin rewards the Melded Hilt used to craft Godsplitter, while also granting Faelin's Sigil from the other.
Reason: Missing Simulacrum locations
A Simulacrum will be found at one of three spots:
- Malefic Palace library, second floor - where Boss dungeon 1 would be in the Beatific Palace

- This storyline is the only one where an overworld area—Brocwithe Quarter—is entirely optional to visit.
