The shieldbearing Living Stone Soldiers use their massive right hand to manipulate rock and sand.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

The Living Stone Soldier will most commonly be found patrolling in the field, though it may also hide inert as a statue, only breaking free when alerted.

Its weakspot, blue crystals embedded in its form, is usually only active during attacks, as signified by a bright blue glow.

In battle, the Soldier stays close to its target, using mostly melee attacks:

  • Shield Bash: A swipe with its massive fist. If initiated from range, it will form an armored sand barrier in front of them, advancing until in range.
    • The Soldier can be staggered out of this attack by inflicting enough damage; this is made easier by the weakspot in its fist, which will remain active throughout its advance.
  • Fist Slam: The Soldier raises the limb above its head, rushing forwards to slam it down.
  • Sand Blast: Dragging its hand through the ground, the Soldier hurls forward short ranged projectiles.

Evolved[edit | edit source]

If a battle goes on for long enough, a Living Stone Soldier may curl up and begin to gather rocks around itself. A new Evolved Soldier emerges in its place, easily identified by a darker coloration and restored legs.
Alternatively, the Evolved Soldier can appear as part of an ambush.

This Elite possesses all the abilities of the lesser Living Stone Soldier, but also gains new attacks:

  • Leaping Slam: Bracing itself and gathering crystal around their fist, the Soldier leaps into the air before slamming its fist into the ground.
  • Crystal Projectile: The Soldier drags its fist through the ground while spinning around itself. Raising into the air, it throws two wide projectiles at its target.

Sometimes, it will interrupt the wind up for the projectile and instead change into the leaping slam.
