==Status effects==
Status effects typically take effect immediately, dealing damage over time. They expire after a certain time has passed.

===Bleed===
{{type|bleed|BLEED}} is the only physical status effect. It deals damage over time, and reduces healing effectiveness by {{type|value|50%}}.

{{type|bleed|BLEED}} effects applied to the [[Traveler]] deal {{type|value|1.1}} damage per second over {{type|value|30s}}. The timer can be raised to a maximum of {{type|value|90s}}.

Enemy attacks that inflict {{type|bleed|BLEED}} only have a percentage chance to do so on every hit, rather than guaranteeing the effect.

===Burning===
{{type|fire|BURNING}} is the status effect for {{type|fire|FIRE}} [[elemental damage]]. It deals {{type|fire|FIRE}} damage over time. Certain enemies will enter a panic animation when they suffer this status effect.

{{type|fire|BURNING}} effects applied to the [[Traveler]] deal {{type|value|10}} {{type|fire|FIRE}} damage per second for {{type|value|3s}}. The timer can be raised to a maximum of {{type|value|10s}} but the active time can be reduced by dodging.

====Faerie Fire====
A special variant of the {{type|fire|BURNING}} status effect, inflicted by [[Fae]] enemies. It deals {{type|value|4%}} Max Health over {{type|value|5s}}. The timer can be raised up to a maximum of {{type|value|15s}}, but dodging removes {{type|value|5s}}. It bypasses immunity to the {{type|fire|BURNING}} effect.

===Overloaded===
{{type|shock|OVERLOADED}} is the status effect for {{type|shock|SHOCK}} [[elemental damage]]. Entities suffering from {{type|shock|OVERLOADED}} release a burst every {{type|value|5s}} that inflicts {{type|shock|SHOCK}} to them and other entities near them, this distance is increased for every linked {{type|shock|OVERLOADED}} entity nerby.
Multiple entities afflicted with {{type|shock|OVERLOADED}} close to one another link up, increasing the damage by 10% per entity up to a maximum of ''unknown needs to be tested''. This bonus is applied as a multiplier to {{type|shock|OVERLOADED}} damage.

{{type|shock|OVERLOADED}} effects applied to the [[Traveler]] deal {{type|value|42}} {{type|shock|SHOCK}} damage per burst and last {{type|value|5.5s}}&mdash;allowing for two bursts per effect. The timer can be raised to a maximum of {{type|value|16.5s}}.
The bursts can be dodged with the correct timing.

===Corroded===
{{type|corrosive|CORRODED}} is the status effect for {{type|corrosive|CORROSIVE}} [[elemental damage]]. It deals {{type|corrosive|CORROSIVE}} or {{type|corrosive|ACID}} damage over time and increases the damage the target takes by [[additive]] {{type|value|10%}}.

{{type|corrosive|CORRODED}} effects applied to the [[Traveler]] deal {{type|value|1.7}} {{type|corrosive|ACID}} damage per second over {{type|value|10s}}. The timer can be raised to a maximum of {{type|value|30s}}.

==Blights==
Blights generally do not inflict damage. They require a certain build up before taking effect, but persist until death or until manually cured. Blights are usually unique to a specific world.

===Curse===
{{type|blight|CURSE}} is a blight inflicted by certain enemies in [[Losomn]]. It reduces Max Health by {{type|value|10%}}&mdash;indicated by a {{type|blight|colored}} section on the health bar&mdash;and can stack up to {{type|value|5x}} for a maximum malus of {{type|value|50%}}. 

{{type|blight|CURSE}} is the only blight that enemies and summons can also be afflicted by, each stack having a duration of {{typ€|value|20s}}.

===Suppression===
{{type|suppression|SUPPRESSION}} is a blight inflicted by certain enemies on [[N'Erud]]. It slows down skill cooldowns by {{type|value|100%}} and reduces Mod Power generation by {{type|value|50%}}.

===Root Rot===
{{type|root-rot|ROOT ROT}} is a blight inflicted by certain enemies on [[Yaesha]]. It reduces Maximum [[Stamina]] by {{type|value|30%}}&mdash;indicated by a {{type|blight|colored}} section on the [[stamina]] bar&mdash; and repeatedly forces a coughing animation that interrupts other actions.

===Data Corruption=== 
{{type|blight|DATA CORRUPTION}} is a blight inflicted by certain enemies on [[Root Earth]]. It disables use of [[Relic]]s and [[Consumable]]s for a short time. Unlike most blights, it quickly expires.

==Special effects==
Certain enemies or hazards have an effect unique to them, with a build up similar to Blights. Although they appear similar on screen, they are unaffected by Blight Resistance.
===Contamination===
An effect unique to [[Space Crab (Small)|small Space Crabs]], causing build up when latched onto the [[Traveler]]. Once the bar is full it immediately deals a large chunk of damage and resets.
====Fog Contamination====
An effect inflicted by the fog at the edges of [[N'Erud Wasteland]] areas. While building up it repeatedly forces a vomiting animation. When the bar is full, the [[Traveler]] is instantly killed, bypassing any defenses and resurrection effects.

Some actions override the vomiting animation, like carrying a heavy weapon or repeatedly dodging,  allowing deeper exploration of the foggy areas. Do note that the status bar will continue filling as normal.

===Madness===
An effect inflicted on the [[Traveler]] when they look at [[Legion]]. After being afflicted by one stack of Madness, any further build up inflicts damage. A second stack will also hide the UI.
===Root Fog===
Created by the [[Root Nexus (Infested Abyss)|Root Nexuses]] in the [[Infested Abyss]]. Inflicts {{v|0.5}} damage every {{v|0.5s}}.
===Ravenous===
Caused by eating the food in [[the Great Hall]]. Inflicts damage over time, and disables the use of [[relics]] and [[consumable]]s.
