Teleporting Root Flyer is an agile and more uncommon variant of the Root Flyer. They can be quickly identified by their bright blue glow.
Behavior[edit | edit source]
The Teleporting Root Flyer is more overtly aggressive than its lesser kin. Once it spots a target, it can teleport near them, often behind.
It will waste no time in getting into melee, where it can use claw swipes with either arm. Sometimes, it will rush towards the Traveler, slashing with both arms. If their target gets caught in this attack, it can trigger a grab, forcing the Traveler into a quicktime event.
The Traveler will find themselves lifted into the air, and will be dropped to their death if they do not manage to free themselves before the Flyer reaches sufficient height. This is made even more dangerous by the Floating Forests themselves—the Traveler can be revived from fall damage, but not from a death in a bottomless pit.
Their ranged attack has them become stationary, launching a energy sphere with initially strong homing capabilities, the projectile exploding on impact.
