The Root Cultist is an elite enemy found in Yaesha that summmons and resurrects Root Zombies whilst attacking.
Behavior[edit | edit source]
The Root Cultist can be found patrolling the Undead Tombs. Once he notices the Traveler, even if from far away, he will quickly and repeatedly summon Root Zombies near them, up to a maximum of 4.
If any Root Zombie dies in the vicinity, the Cultist can resurrect it. Shining with a red glow, the creature will be restored to full health but keep any enhancements from broken limbs. It will also benefit from a HASTE buff, allowing it to pursue the Traveler more easily. If it dies a second time, it will explode in a slowing cloud of ROOT ROT.
The Root Cultist himself is not defenseless either, periodically firing an energy projectile from his staff. If the Traveler gets too close, the Cultist may opportunistically lunge forward to stab them with his dagger. If caught in melee range himself, he will strike with his staff.
