Abomination

The Abomination is a more powerful variant of it's Hollowed kin. It lurks in the pipes of the Putrid Domain, rewarding the material used to craft the Bore mod.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

At the start of the fight, the Abomination behaves nearly identical to the weaker variant. At range, it will attempt a charge, knocking down anything it hits, but becoming stunned when impacting terrain.

If close enough, it may engage in a prolonged attack sequence, first doing three simple swipes followed by two slams, culminating in a final swipe. Alternatively it may do a lunge, throwing forward both SUPPRESSION fluid, as well as several canisters that detonate after a short delay.

At very short ranges, it may do a jump slam, producing a shockwave that travels outward a small distance.

It will always have three plated sections, each absorbing damage equal to 2% of its health before breaking away. Destroyed plating reveals explosive canisters underneath, which can detonate after suffering another 2% health directly—ragdolling the creature and exposing the central core as its weakpoint. Each rupture will however spread slowing SUPPRESSION puddles.

At about 85% remaining health, the Abomination begins to use a rolling attack, circling around the arena once or twice. While rolling it will kick up projectiles of either SUPPRESSION fluid or explosive canisters. It finishes its attack by rolling towards the Traveler, attempting to crush them.

At 70% health, it also gains access to a long leap slam. More importantly, it also may now retreat into the pipes to restore the armor plating above its core. This is accompanied by up to three Hollowed Drzyr falling into the arena.
It should be noted that only the armor will be repaired; the explosives do not have to be detonated again. This gives back immediate access to the weakspot, but also means the Abomination cannot be staggered again.

At 40%, it starts to use an ability reminiscent of Hollowed Psykers: it will begin to float, pulling in debris. It will throw two or three projectiles, before charging itself. It unleashes the gathered power in a shockwave that covers the entire arena, while also scattering explosive canisters everywhere.

Although the Abomination is technically not immune to the BURNING status effect, the outer parts of the arena are covered in shallow liquid, extinguishing any fire on entities within. The outer ring also has some dormant canisters embedded in the ground, which can be shot to stagger the Abomination. This can be useful to thwart an escape into the pipes, or to cancel its rolling attack early.
