==Behavior==

Fae Scions prefer to keep at range, spreading {{type|fire|FAERIE FIRE}} through several of attacks. From their lanterns they can send an arcing projectile, which bursts into a lingering fire. Sometimes they rear up and spew a stream of bile, leaving {{type|corrosive|CORROSIVE}} puddles of acid. The acid ignites with {{type|fire|FAERIE FIRE}} if it comes into contact with other fire hazards and {{type|fire|BURNING}} creatures. If the Scion itself is burning, its acid will ignite immediately.
<br/>The final ranged attack is a projectile from their staff, which knocks down targets.

They are not above charging into melee when they see an opportunity. When a Scion spots a prone target, it rears up and rushes at them, initiating a [[Grab Attack]]. Failing to complete the quick time event will instantly kill the [[Traveler]], bypassing the downed state and any revive effects. Successfully fending them off is however rewarded with damaging the Scion for roughly 13.5% of its max health.

Their only other melee attack is a wide swipe with its staff. Although it knocks down targets, its extended windup sees it used more as a means to get space.

In addition to higher resistances against {{type|corrosive|CORROSIVE}} damage, Fae Scions are completely immune to the {{type|corrosive|CORRODED}} status effect.

After a while, the Scion may throw its lantern, creating a large patch of {{type|fire|FAERIE FIRE}}. Alternatively, the [[Traveler]] may shatter it&mdash;it looses its armor every time the Scion casts magic, and breaks after taking about 10% of the Scions maximum health as direct damage. Doing so burns the Scion with 10s of {{type|fire|FAERIE FIRE}}.
<br/>Without the lantern the Scion will prefer to use its knockdown projectile and grab attack, ceasing to use both fire balls and bile.

On death, the Scion will sometimes land on its back, spewing a geysir of bile into the air, inflicting {{type|corrosive|CORRODED}} on anything hit.
