    Behavior[edit | edit source]

An Engineering Drone will often be first sighted when approaching along the narrow walkways of the towers.

By itself it lacks any ranged weapons, but this is compensated by a swarm of 4 Small Drones, which follow it and periodically fire at targets. The Small Drones are very fragile—consisting almost entirely of a weakspot—and can drop ammo on death. Trying to remove them entirely is hopeless however, as the Engineering Drone will deploy an additional 4 everytime its current swarm is whittled down to 2.
This generally places a maximum of 6 on the count, but this can be further bypassed—whenever the Engineering Drone is staggered it will release 4 more drones regardless of the number already deployed.

When at medium range, it will often curl up and quickly roll towards its target, before unfurling its limbs and rapidly spinning on the ground, damaging and staggering foes caught in range. If already in melee range it will instead rear up and spin its torso while walking forward, which can be difficult to avoid in narrow rooms.
The last of its physical attacks is a simple swipe with one of its limbs.

Although it has only average health values, its durability is greatly increased by a shield equal to 150% of its health. While the shield is intact, the Engineering Drone gains an additional melee attack, releasing a SHOCK burst that inflicts OVERLOADED. This attack can occur either as a normal melee attack, or in place of the ground spin of the rolling charge.

Breaking the shield will always stagger the Engineering Drone, triggering the deployment of more Small Drones. After a short while, the Drone can restore its shield, also absorbing nearby ammo drops in the process.
